An active cold-front
approaching from the west into warm air over the British Isles triggered
some of the most aggressive thunderstorms seen in years across parts of
western Scotland and the Lake District. The cooler air subtly lifted the
warm air situated over the British Isles in a North-Westerly direction
Ron Stirling of Glasgow was one of many to witness these impressive
thunderstorms as they developed strongly along the coast and moved inland.
He took this impressive shot of lightning hitting a building.
